Overview: Primary School and Nursery within London’s Royal Docks regeneration site, with exceptional CCS scoring
Situated within London’s Royal Docks’ Royal Wharf development, this new build Primary School and Nursery will accommodate up to 450 pupils from Royal Wharf and the wider community of Newham.
As part of the Section 106 Agreement, the scheme was procured through a two-stage design and build route, with value engineering at the forefront of Claritas’ work. Working together with design managers and the preconstruction team, the project was brought in line with the proposed budget to ensure a transparent approach. The efficient construction approach consists of a RC frame on raft slab, traditional brick built with Metsec infill, curtain walling and a sports MUGA area created at roof level.
The school is positioned in the heart of the existing Royal Wharf development and as such communication with other contractors was essential to ensure coordination. With an already exceptional CCS score of 9/9, this remains a key focus.
